Coming to a village near you to close out Maine State Music Theatre’s 2015 season is Mel Brooks’ hilarious musical comedy, “Young Frankenstein.” This show runs Aug. 5-22 with show times at 2 and 7:30 p.m. at Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick.

Mel Brooks’ iconic ’70s movie became a Broadway smash in 2007. Serving as an affectionate parody of the classic 1930s horror film, the musical was nominated for three Tony Awards and a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album, in addition to winning the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

Leading ladies include Jessica Lee Goldyn (Broadway’s “A Chorus Line”; “On The Town”) as Elizabeth, Missy Dowse as Inga, and MSMT regular, Charis Leos as Frau Blucher. The cast finishes up with another MSMT favorite, David Girolmo as Inspector Kemp/Hermit, Paul Aguirre as Victor/Herald, and Steve Gagliastro as Ziggy/Shoeshine.
