Dear Editor:

As proud parents, we would like to congratulate Coach John Deetjen and his 8th grade girls basketball team for an undefeated season and Busline League championship.

It has truly been a thrill to watch these girls work together as a team. What is even more special than that is to see the bond they have developed with each other. The friendship and compassion they share with each other on and off the court, should be a lesson to us all.

To the girls on the team – Thank you for giving us such an exciting season and a sense of pride for the way you represent our community!

To all the coaches, past and present – Thank you for teaching these girls the skills to be a winning team but also for teaching them what it means to work together and care for one another.

We can’t wait to see what the future brings.
