Wes Anderson's new comedy-drama “The Grand Budapest Hotel” recounts the adventures of Gustave H., a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune, and the concierge who, with the help of his trusted lobby boy, attempts to prove his innocence after he is framed for murder.

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” features an all-star cast including Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Léa Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Tony Revolori.

Wes Anderson's last movie, “Moonrise Kingdom,” was the second highest-grossing film of the year at The Harbor Theatre in 2012, (after “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”). His latest movie, “Grand Budapest Hotel” should be equally crowd-pleasing. It has been described as “Eloquent, offbeat and charming” and “Anderson’s most accomplished film to date” according to online review site Concrete Playground.

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is (rated R). It plays for two weeks beginning Wednesday, April 16 through Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 20 at 3 p.m.

FREE: “Son of God”

“Son of God” is billed as “a major motion picture event”; an experience created to be shared among families and communities across the U.S. It brings the story of Jesus’ life to audiences through compelling cinematic storytelling that is both powerful and inspirational.

Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar (R)-winner Hans Zimmer.

Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film depicts his humble birth, teachings, crucifixion, and ultimate resurrection.

A free screening will play on Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m., sponsored by the United Methodist Church of Boothbay Cooperative Parish. Tickets are available on a first come, first served, basis. The box office will open at 2:30 p.m.; come early to ensure your tickets and the best seats for this special Easter weekend event.

Theatre memberships, renewals and screen ads help the theatre stay open offseason. Members receive $2 ticket discounts each visit to the theatre.
