Dear Editor:

Are we listening? In a recent speech in New Hampshire, former President Trump used language that is identical to that of Nazis and others now and from years past. He referred to opponents as, communists, radicals, left thugs, vermin who will lie, steal and cheat to destroy America.

To refer to this language as "rhetoric" is merely to fail to take it seriously. We must take it, as the poet said, literally and in all senses ... and we should be terrified.
