It’s BICA picnic time. Saturday, Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. will be BICA’s annual picnic at the hall (24 West Side Road). Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided by the Barters Island Mens Grill Team—always delicious. Please bring a picnic dish that complements them or a dessert to share. The results are in and it was reported that Ken and Suzanne did a totally amazing job of organizing The Better Than A Yard Sale. Along with the help of about 30 workers a good amount of money was raised. It takes the whole neighborhood to make the sale work so thanks to all, along with a really big thank you to all the folks that donated items for the sale. The money raised will be used to cover the BICA hall expenses and more importantly will be used to help neighborhood folks that might need a little boost.  

Joan’s after dinner trivia game was great fun. Only true or false answers were required but it was tough. The best prize was awarded for scoring 16 out of the 20 questions correctly and next were two folks tied with 14 correct answers. 

Thanks go out to Tom, Judy, Joan and Louise for running the kitchen and organizing the really delicious food that was contributed. It is never a difficult task as many others chip in to help. If interested in helping at a future potluck, let one of the officers or board members know.  

It is last call for tickets for lobster raffle tickets. Laura and Bucky will again be available at the picnic for lobster raffle tickets--$1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5. Everyone wants to get in on this. The winning ticket will be drawn at the picnic with 25 lobsters as the prize. You need not be present to win.  

September will put us back on our normal schedule with the potluck taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 17. You might put the date on your calendar now. The Spofford Lane folks will be hosting.
