Dear Editor:

We never would have believed that so many people who saw the write up on Charlie Hull’s 97th birthday would send so many cards.

He got over 40, not only from locals but from those all over Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Virginia, Ohio, Florida and California.

Some didn't know us but wanted to make him happy. His wife read them to him several times and he keeps them beside his chair and looks at them.

Many, many thanks to all and we both appreciated it so much. He ended his day eating birthday cake and ice cream. Thanks again.
