Supper to honor Bruce MacDonald on Oct. 25

Rep. Bruce MacDonald will be honored for his eight years of outstanding service representing Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Arrowsic, Georgetown, Southport and Westport Island in the Maine House. All are invited to attend the supper, which will be on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the American Legion Post in Boothbay, and to join in with testimonials and toasts commemorating MacDonald’s many achievements.

MacDonald is serving his fourth and final term in the Maine House, having been term-limited out. He is the House chairman of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. In prior legislative sessions he served on the Marine Resources Committee and the Business, Research and Economic Development Committee.

MacDonald has been well known throughout his district and in Augusta as an important advocate for small business, fishing and the environment, and for his numerous achievements, including work on tax reform, alternative energy sources and improvements in health insurance.

The supper will be from 5 to 7 p.m. The main course will be macaroni and cheese, with or without lobster; plus there will be salad, bread, punch, coffee and dessert. Also featured will be music, testimonials and toasts, and a 50/50 raffle. Mark Eves, Speaker of the House, is the invited guest speaker. Admission is $15 for adults, $7 for children 5 to 12 years old, and no charge for children under 5.
