Dear Editor:

The 17th Gingerbread Spectacular was indeed spectacular! Thanks to countless hours spent decorating by staff member Kevin Kiley and his team of elves this season, the Opera House served as a truly dazzling backdrop for dozens of uniquely creative gingerbread creations. Thanks to all of the gingerbread designers and bakers for making thousands of visitors smile all weekend long. Thanks to the Friends of the Opera House for their incredible bounty of baked goods and to Margaret Tew for organizing them all. Thanks to judges Jen Correa, Sue Norton, Candi Joneth, Pandy Dickinson and Bonnie Stover for putting in the hard work determining the winners of this year’s gingerbread competition.

As our 20th season comes to a close, the Opera House is still filled with the sweet smell of gingerbread, and the sound of the past year’s memorable performances echoing through the building. Thank you to all who have so kindly supported the Opera House over the past year. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2024. We have one final concert of the year, featuring Ellis Paul on Dec. 29 and our first event of 2024 is Open Mic on Jan. 5.
