Send Hawke back to Augusta

Dear Editor:

I usually don’t give endorsements but I am giving one this year. Some may view my endorsement as a partisan rubber stamp but for the record, I am an Independent.

We have a woman running for re-election who is just starting to get her feet wet in Augusta. She has shown that she is willing to make decisions based on what she feels is in the best interests of her constituents. She’s willing to look at both sides of an issue when making those decisions as well. Even if she disagrees with you, she will take the time to hear you out, to hear your side of the issue. She doesn’t care what party you belong to when she listens either. We need her type of leadership in Augusta. She is someone who works for us, listens to us, talks to us (not down to us) and is one of us.

Stephanie Hawke cares for her community and it shows when someone needs a hand. All you need to do is look at the recent fundraiser held at Hawke Motors to prove my point.

It takes time to get your feet wet in Augusta and Stephanie has had that time to get her feet wet. We don’t need to start over with someone new. We already have someone there who is working for us. The time has come to keep moving forward and in order to do that, we need to send Stephanie Hawke back to Augusta. I urge the voters of House District 89 to return her to Augusta to continue her work.
