The Seahawks track and field teams enjoyed their first meet of the season in Wiscasset facing off against Spruce Mountain and Dirigo high schools, Monmouth Academy and Wiscasset Middle High School.

The boys placed fourth behind Monmouth, Spruce Mountain and Wiscasset while beating Dirigo handily. The girls also placed fourth behind Spruce Mountain, Monmouth and Wiscasset and just edged out Dirigo.

“With our limited numbers we weren't able to finish atop the team standings, but we had a lot of great individual performances,” said Boothbay Region High School coach Nick Scott.

The girls 4x400 meter relay team – Marissa Peters, Reagan Cola, Hannah Cola and Olivia Paoillo – placed second. Both the boys’ 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams – Graham Harris, Will Perkins, Kyle Ames and Blake Erhard – placed first with the 4x800 meter relay team placing sixth.

Qualifying for MVC Championships were Reagan Cola (javelin and 200 meter); Zada Smith (100 meter hurdles); Kyle Ames (800 meter); Sam Burnham (javelin); and Quinn Ranta (110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, high jump and triple jump).
