Seahawks end season with loss at Spruce Mountain

The Boothbay Region Seahawks lost their final game of the season Thursday, Feb. 8 at Spruce Mountain in Jay, 89-45.

The Seahawks finished 5-13 and in 12th place in Class C South, missing the Maine Principals’ Association tournament by one place in the standings.

The Phoenix scored 23 three-pointers on their way to their 12th win of the season. Going into the tournament, Spruce Mountain is seeded sixth and will face York in a Class B South quarterfinal game.

Top scorers for the Phoenix were Ian York with 20 points, Griffin Achorn 15 and Jace Bessey 12.

Finishing their Seahawk careers, seniors Finn Harkins led Boothbay with 22 points and Luke Morley added 13.
