The Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) baseball team took advantage of nine walks, one hit batsman, and six errors by host Dirigo to get the Seahawks’ second win (2-0) of the season, 11-2, in Dixfield April 24. Sam Markowitz had Boothbay’s only hit.

BRHS scored three runs in the first inning and Dirigo countered with one in the first and second. The Seahawks scored three more times in the third inning, once in the fifth and racked up four runs in the seventh.

Freshman Shawn Gamage led scoring with three runs; Maddox Cusumano and Liam Jacobs each scored twice; and Finn Harkins, Henry Putnam, Casey Phelps and Jaden Orne each scored a run.

Jacobs and Harkins took the mound for BRHS with a combined 14 strikeouts, allowing five hits, five walks and two earned runs. Dirigo pitchers had eight strikeouts and gave up five earned runs. The Seahawks did not commit an error.
