North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) Boothbay-area athletes, Jake Malcom ’17 (Boothbay) and Maggie Larson ’19 (Southport), received Most Valuable Player awards for their contributions and leadership to the NYA boys and girls basketball teams. Malcom and Larson were also recognized at the state level with selections to the Western Maine Conference All-Conference First Team.

Larson led the WMC in three-pointers (39) and second in the conference with points/game (14.4). She set NYA records on the hardwood this winter as well for most points in a game (38) and most 3-pointers made in a game (7).

Malcom ended his senior season by posting 15.5 points/game, 8.1 rebounds/game, 1.7 steals/game, and blocked 1.3 shots/game.

Maggie’s sister Katie Larson's (’20 Southport) play for the Panthers earned her a Western Maine All-Conference Honorable mention.
