Fire Truck and First Responders Parade shines a light
If you heard an abundance of sirens Nov. 22, no worries, it wasn't an emergency! The annual Fire Truck + First Responder's Parade was ringing in the Christmas season with a retinue of lighted vehicles and an appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Southport Fire Department took home the Judge’s Dalmatian Cup, and the People’s Choice Award went to Boothbay Harbor Police Department, whose display advocated for Christmas movie, “Die Hard.”
The parade started at Boothbay Fire Department, made a stop at St. Andrews Village, and drove through downtown Boothbay Harbor. This year saw emergency service participants from across the county, including Boothbay Harbor Fire and Police Departments, Boothbay Fire Department, Boothbay Region Ambulance Service, Southport Fire Department, Damariscotta Fire Department, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Coast Guard and Waldoboro Police Department.
Next up is the parade’s sister event, the Lighted Boat Parade & Fireworks, on Dec. 6, starting at 6:45 p.m.
