Journey to Thailand

Mon, 08/25/2014 - 4:30pm

Dear Editor:

Khob Khun Ka mak mak (thank you) to everyone who “Journeyed to Thailand” on Aug. 21, in support of Friends of Thai Daughters. Our (sold-out) event at the Barters Island Community Hall began as a simple Thai meal, to thank the Boothbay Harbor community who supported us last year. It turned into a mouth-watering (and spicy) offering of the best dishes from Thailand, made with love. Our “Thai Daughter” (Lek), with the help of Villard Studios and Mexicali Blues, transported us to Southeast Asia.

On behalf of Mee, Pui, Lek, Ying and “your” other Thai Daughters, we’d like to thank the following: Liz Evans (East Boothbay General Store), Julie Lamy, Kim/Pete Erskine (Mexicali Blues), Kim/Philippe Villard (Villard Studios), Nick/Suzy Mace, Kate Horgan, Carol/Pete Matwiczyk, Dr. Chuck/Betty Koch, Douglas Gimbel, Marianne Reynolds, Gail Nassif, Elaine/Tom Fogarty, (Barters Island Baptist Church), Lisa Knowlton, Molly Stark, Kim Hodgdon, Evelyn Shahan, Steve Pennisi, Beth Dininio, Joe Hale, Alice Zinkowski, and everyone else who helped us exceed our goal.
