Introduction to pressure cooking class offered

Thu, 10/23/2014 - 3:00pm

Come to the FARMS Community Kitchen (upstairs over the Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta) and explore the wonders and possibilities of pressure cooking with whole foods cook Sharon Sandstrum.

Nothing beats a pressure cooker for preparing fast, deeply nourishing foods for cold weather.

On Thursday, Oct. 30, at the first in a series of three classes, participants will look over a few different pressure cookers.

If you have one, please bring it. If you are thinking of getting one, you will receive enough information to be able to choose one right for you.

The pressure cookers of today have many safety features, and we will learn why pressure cookers are now safe and easy to use.

Each class is all about cooking together and then eating. What, how and with whom we eat deeply affects not only our bodies but our spirits as well. All meals will be vegetarian, gluten free and made with local, organic ingredients as available.

This pressure cooking class will meet for three Thursdays, beginning Oct. 30 and continuing on Thursday, Nov. 6, and Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The cost of the series is $75, which includes instruction, recipes and great meals three weeks running.

Class size is limited to eight, so register early by contacting Sharon Sandstrum at 207-446-7044 or goodvibesfood@live.com.
