Hot Tuna rocks Opera House

Wed, 01/08/2014 - 6:30pm

Co-founders of Jefferson Airplane, bassist Jack Casady and guitarist Jorma Kaukonen were joined by mandolin virtuoso Barry Mitterhoff in a concert at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor on January 5. An audience of 300 attended the three-hour show in which the musicians awed the house with songs of old and those from their new CD, "Steady As She Goes." The all acoustic show included "How Long," "Candyman," "Barbeque King," "Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning" and "Red River Blues." All three musicians dazzled during solos, but it was Casady's nimble picking that elicited the strongest applause.
