Hit and run destroys fence and planter at Boothbay Region Greenhouses

Sometime between the hours of 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 26 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 27, a hit and run accident took place in front of Boothbay Region Greenhouses on 35 Howard Street in Boothbay Harbor.

The damage included a whiskey barrel planter and the wooden fence made by Aroostook Fencing. While a portion of the fence remains standing, the entire structure is loose and was knocked out of place by the impact. The planter is in shards, and what remains is nearly flat.

Nick Upham of the Boothbay Harbor Police Department was the responding officer. As of Tuesday, Sept. 2, he is pursuing a couple of leads and the investigation is ongoing.
