Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library

Get your recipe ready for the benefit chili cook-off

Wed, 10/14/2015 - 11:15am

The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is now registering entries for their Benefit Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Oct. 30 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The event will be held in the library's upstairs Community Room.

The competitors' $25 donation to the library will save their place at the chili competition table. Competitors are asked to bring a large slow cooker of chili, serving spoon, toppings, advertising flier (optional), extension cord, and power-strip, and be sure to pick up the contestant information sheet when registering.

The public is invited to sample all the chili entries and vote once for their favorite, between 1 and 3:30, for $3 per person; kids 5 and under are free. Drinks and crackers are provided. Winner must be present to win and will be announced on library lawn, Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:45 p.m., with the “BHML 2015 Harvest Chili King or Queen” title, crown, trophy, prizes and bragging rights.

A fun and tasty way to benefit your local public library, so get cooking ... and tasting! Call the library at 207-633-3112 or email Caroline Roberts croberts@bmpl.lib.me.us for more information.
