Ronald Fuller of Boothbay Harbor will serve 16 months in a federal prison for stealing a vintage Chevrolet Malibu and driving it from Maine to Missouri.

Fuller, 63, pleaded guilty on November 8 and was sentenced in U.S. District Court on February 19. Fuller's defense attorney James Hewes requested that Fuller serve a 14-month sentence on each charge concurrently. Judge George Singal ordered Fuller to serve 16 months and an additional 4 years for violating his conditions of release at the time the car was stolen.

Police officers arrested Fuller at a campsite in St. Francois County, Missouri on April 10. The 1971 Chevy Malibu convertible was valued at $35,000. It had been stolen from a Woowich man. Police recovered about $8,300 in cash and a large cache of jewelry at the campsite, according to court documents.

Fuller is scheduled to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court on April 7 for charges related to a string of burglaries throughout Lincoln and Sagdahoc counties between 2011 and 2012. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

If convicted, Fuller could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $20,000.
