Les Fossel, who is a candidate for Maine Senate District 13, has received the highest possible rating of A+ from the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine.

The Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine (SAM) is the state’s largest sportsman’s organization with 10,000 members.

In considering its ratings, SAM took a number of factors into consideration, such as the candidates’ stance on issues such as trapping, controlling the deer population, use of public lands, and other hunting-related issues.

“It is a true honor to have received such a strong endorsement from the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine,” Fossel said. “Hunting in Maine is more than recreation; it is a way of life and a big part of our state’s heritage.

“If I am fortunate enough to be elected to the Maine Senate, I will continue to support Mainers’ right to bear arms and protect our hunting rights.”

Les Fossel served two terms in the Maine House of Representatives.

He is running for Senate District 13, which covers communities in Lincoln, Knox and Kennebec counties.
