An East Boothbay man has pleaded not guilty to three charges after being arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Jesse Blackburn, 45, of Boothbay was arrested Nov. 12 and charged with three misdemeanor offenses after he allegedly struck a woman and prevented her from calling 9-1-1.

At 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, Chubbuck was called to a house on Ocean Point Road in East Boothbay. According to Chubbuck's affidavit, Blackburn and a woman were allegedly arguing.

Blackburn allegedly pushed the woman off the bed and allegedly began striking her; Chubbuck noted that a cut on the woman's hand was the only visible injury.

Blackburn is also alleged to have broken the woman's phone and a tablet to prevent her from calling 9-1-1. Chubbuck noted that he found a cracked tablet and phone in the residence.

Blackburn allegedly denied any involvement and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Blackburn was charged with a trio of Class D crimes, including domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and obstructing a report.

The maximum penalty for a Class D crime is a year in jail and up to $2,000 in fines.

Blackburn was ordered to have no contact with the victim and to refrain from using or possessing alcohol. Blackburn pleaded not guilty to all three charges and will have a court date Dec. 28 at the Lincoln County Unified Court in Wiscasset.
