A Damariscotta woman who struck another woman with a beer bottle pleaded guilty to assault August 4 at Wiscasset Superior Court.

Jade Robbins, 24, pleaded guilty to only a Class D charge of assault after she had been charged with the more serious charges of Class A aggravated assault, which carried with it a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. Because of her plea deal the charge of tampering with a witness was dropped against Robbins.

Instead, Robbins was sentenced to 364 days in prison with all of it suspended as she will be on probation for the year.

Robbins was arrested March 30 by Wiscasset Police after she followed a woman outside of the Schooner Inn and struck her with a beer bottle. The woman Robbins struck was testifying against Robbins' brother in another case.

Robbins followed the woman to her car and struck her repeatedly and the victim claimed she lost consciousness after the attack.

As part of her deal, Robbins will not be allowed to have any contact with the victim and must pay the court $380.
