Action, art, opera and Paris — what could be better? This week we launch our new series of occasional conversations, free to the public, that focus on the visual arts. It’s our hope that they will provide a more personal look into the world of artists and art. We are extremely pleased that Sharon Corwin has agreed to launch the series. Add to that a few more adventures with Liam Neeson, a conversation exploring the funny side of Mozart, a comedic operatic masterpiece, and a lovely film about relationships round out the week.

Non-Stop” (PG-13, 1 hour 46 minutes)

Starring global action star Liam Neeson, Golden Globe Award winner Julianne Moore, and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o (“12 Years a Slave”), “Non-Stop” is a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, an air marshal (Neeson) springs into action after receiving a series of text messages that put his fellow passengers at risk unless the airline transfers $150 million into an off-shore account. Final screenings Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24 at 2 and 7 p.m. Presented in Partnership with The Computer Connection.

“Talking Art in Maine, Intimate Conversations”

This week marks the launch of “Talking Art in Maine, Intimate Conversations,” a series of intimate, one on one conversations between artist, Jane Dahmen, and notable artists and curators who have made a substantial contribution to the arts in the state of Maine. The inaugural guest is Sharon Corwin, Director and Chief Curator of the Colby College Museum of Art. This series is free to the public. Friday, April 25 at 1 p.m.

Le Week-End” (R, 1 hour 33 minutes)

In this magically buoyant and bittersweet film, Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan play a long-married couple who revisit Paris for a long weekend for the first time since their honeymoon, in hopes of rekindling their relationship- or, perhaps, to bring it to an end. Friday, April 25 and Saturday April 26 at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 30 at 2 and 7 p.m. Presented in partnership with Mexicali Blues.

The Met Live in HD: Mozart's “Cosi fan tutte” (4 hours, 5 mins)

James Levine conducts the first Live in HD performance of Mozart’s barbed romance, “Così fan tutte.” The opera balances broad comedy with heart-rending tragedy, and features some of Mozart’s best-loved arias, duets, and trios. Lesley Koenig’s sleek production will star Susanna Phillips and Isabel Leonard as the sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella. Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. following a Pre-Opera Talk with Dr. Morton Achter, “What Mozart Did for Comic Opera,” at 11:45 a.m.
