Community Lunch was ‘raving success’

Tue, 12/05/2023 - 7:30am

Let's start by saying Monday's Community Lunch was a raving success with Buzz and Mark from Topside Inn outdoing themselves with baked Ziti with sausage, shrimp Alfredo, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and what everyone in the room said, was the best Italian rum cake they had ever had.(a few went home for naps).

Since last week, group leaders have been working closely with Teresa Tess at Boothbay Region High School on what they believed was a doable project. Monday, Tancy and Lisa, with the blessing of other hosts and volunteers, were able to declare they will be able to provide $250 in food and gift assistance for Christmas to the 20 families identified in need at BRHS. This is all a direct result of the generosity of weekly patrons and also from people from away who have sent in donations to the Monday Community Lunch Bunch.

The group couldn't be happier to be able to provide this assistance and are working with others to be able to donate the same for the elementary school as well. A total of 52 families between both schools have been identified as in serious need for the holidays.

We again thank all who have contributed when they enjoy a lunch on Monday and all are thrilled we can make this happen for 20 families.

Next up at Brady's on Monday is Wiscasset Ford featuring “Super Chef” David Warford! Please feel free to attend these great get-togethers!

Cheers!!
