The Boothbay Region High School cheerleading team will compete in the regional competition at the Augusta Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 20, promptly at noon.

BRHS, of the Mountain Valley Conference, is one of 36 teams competing on Saturday from the MVC, Western Maine Conference and the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference. Other MVC teams competing are Spruce Mountain, Lisbon, Mountain Valley, Madison, Oak Hill, Dirigo and Monmouth. Each school has about six minutes to perform their routine. The schedule is staggered to include all the teams from the various conferences.

The high school competition begins at 10 a.m. and runs through until 2 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.
