Garden Club collaborations to enhance student education
Boothbay Region Garden Club welcomes Beth Jarvis, youth and family programs educator at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (CMBG), to speak at our Wednesday, March 11 meeting on the collaboration between the CMBG, Garden Club of Wiscasset, Boothbay Region Garden Club, Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club, ReTree US, Boothbay Region Elementary School, Edgecomb Eddy Elementary School and other local programs to support education of our students in conservation, environmental goals and food security.
Jarvis taught in the public school system for 20 years and has now transitioned to her position at CMBG. She leads the summer camps in the summer and provides school gardening and natural history support and programming to local schools throughout the rest of the year.
The presentation is March 11 at approximately 2:30 p.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church (32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor). The public is invited to join us for refreshments which will be served at 1:30 p.m.
