UPDATE: Authorities search for missing Whitefield man
In a Feb. 6, 4:30 p.m. update, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office provided the following:
During today’s continued search for Stephen Schlosser he was discovered in the woods. Mr. Schlosser was deceased, foul play is not believed to be a factor. The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Mr. Schlosser was found in the wooded area between the Howe Road and Benner Lane. Today’s search was conducted by Warden K9 teams and Sheriff’s Office Arieal Drones.
Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Maine Warden Service are searching for a missing elderly man from Whitefield.
On Feb. 5, at about 3 p.m., Stephen Schlosser, 76, of Serenity Lane in Whitefield was reported missing. Schlosser was last seen at his home Feb. 2 around 3:30 p.m.
Schlosser is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. It is unknown what he was wearing. He is being treated for a medical condition that requires prescription medication, and he suffers from known cognitive deficiencies. He is believed to be on foot; there is no known direction of travel.
Sheriff’s deputies and the Warden Service started an area search using both aerial drones and K9 search teams. The search will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday. This search will include K9 teams and aerial drones.
