Fall Into the Holidays 2021
Pleasant Cove, Boothbay – Steve Edwards/Boothbay Register
Fall is a gorgeous season here in Midcoast Maine, particularly the Boothbay Region! Foliage, fairs, early bird sales, hiking trails, art galleries, shopping, yummy meals at restaurants, cozy lodging choices – some with fireplaces!
Events abound around the peninsula beginning in October at Boothbay Railway Village Museum with Family Harvest Days and the Fall Foliage Festival; Halloween train rides at BRVM and WW&F Railway Museum in Alna; and trick or treating events.
Come November, there are the early bird sales; Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens begins; later in the month, it’s time for the 2nd annual Lighted Fire Trucks Parade and Competition, and wouldn’t you know it, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be riding on one of Boothbay Fire Department’s finest.
December brings Santa and Mrs. Claus, a lighted boat parade, fireworks, the North Pole Express, community sing-along, tree lighting ceremony; and the Gingerbread Spectacular.
Celebrate nature at one or more of Boothbay Region Land Trust preserves. Do include Oak Point Farm to walk and read along the story trail there. New ones monthly!
Take in a concert at the Opera House.
Take a walk along the rocky coastline at Ocean Point, East Boothbay.
Whatever you do and wherever you go, don’t forget your camera.
