“You couldn’t ask for a better day,” was the talk around the grounds at Boothbay Railway Village on Saturday, the first day of the three-day Fall Foliage Festival. Blue skies and bright sunshine were overhead as hundreds of people passed through the gates to enjoy the many craft booths and food being offered.

By 11 a.m., the parking lot was full and the festival-goers were perusing the wide variety of crafts. The Village train was running around the track, with the passenger cars nearly filled. There were many kinds of dogs – small to large – and although they wished they were running like the train, all were on leashes. Music on the Village stage added to the festive atmosphere and, as always, friends stopped to talk with friends.

The fun was scheduled to continue Sunday and Monday.
