Teachers, administrators, students and guardians enjoyed burgers, hot dogs and salad at Boothbay Region Elementary School’s Community Cookout on Sept 18. The Parent Teacher Organization Book Fair was also held in the lobby with an open house in a number of classrooms.

Principal Mark Tess donned a chef’s hat as he and Assistant Principal Tricia Campbell manned the grill. BRES teachers dished out the food and kids enjoyed the old playground behind BRES after eating and while parents mingled among themselves and teachers. As they are actively looking for more members, the PTO was spreading the word that the group will host a party at the BRES library on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
