Busy week at Boothbay Region Elementary
May 1 to 5 will be a particularly busy time at Boothbay Region Elementary School. For one thing, this is Teacher Appreciation Week, and the BRES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is honoring its educational superheroes by holding a “Souper Hero” lunch for BRES teachers and staff in the teachers’ lounge on Tuesday, May 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The PTO’s Spring Book Fair runs all week and is being held in the school lobby during school hours, with additional hours for Family Night, 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2.
BRES baseball, softball and lacrosse will be held at home this week, weather permitting, while jump roping will take place in the BRES gym on Tuesday, May 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Student rope jumpers have been collecting donations for the American Heart Association and will be participating in an event called “Jump Rope for Hearts” to demonstrate the importance of fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Title I Parent Night, also on Tuesday, May 2, 4:30 to 6 p.m., invites Title I parents to meet with their child’s teacher to talk about progress and to voice their thoughts on the program, in general.
And last but not least, an ice cream social will be held in the BRES gym on Tuesday, May 2, starting at 5 p.m. Students, parents, and other family members are welcome to attend.
