Gratitude

Dear Editor:
As you may have noticed, there has been a lot of activity this summer and fall at Our Lady Queen of Peace church. Our traditional Summer Fair in July presented a vast array of yard sale items, books, and a delicious lobster roll lunch. Local businesses generously donated more than 35 items for the Fair’s famous Silent Auction — no one left empty handed!
In late September, our aging and leaking roof was finally able to be reshingled!
Thanks to funds earned from the Summer Fair, our Quilt Raffle, and so many kind donors, we have been able to pay in full for the services of Horch Roofing. Our church and steeple stand in good shape now for whatever the winter weather brings.
And speaking of the Quilt Raffle: a winner was drawn, from the hundreds of tickets sold, on Oct. 9. A summer visitor who purchased his ticket over the July 4th weekend, will be enjoying the colorful quilt made for us by two summer residents.
Thank you, Thank you to all who participated in our fundraising this summer!
We are so appreciative of the unselfish generosity of our Boothbay Harbor community, All Saints Parish parishioners, and summer visitors alike! For their concern and support in helping us to restore and maintain our Harbor landmark, we have endless gratitude!
