Spring is in the air, at last. Along with April showers and song birds returning the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club Barn is reopening for the season on Saturday, April 2 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. We plan to be open every Saturday through the summer till mid-December.
We’ve cleaned out the Big Gray Barn, located at 66 Montgomery Road, BBH. We swept the floors and added a new collection of gently used furniture, household goods, tools and collectibles.
All items in the barn are donated from members of this generous, kind and interesting community we live in.
Your purchases help to support the local and international programs and projects of the BBH Rotary which include donations to the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund, Boothbay YMCA camp scholarships, Partners for World Health and many more. Your purchases have also helped the Rotary Club cook and deliver almost 3,000 pints of soup to our local Food Pantry, thank and celebrate our teachers with our recent Teacher Appreciation Days. This is just the start of what we do with your help and support.
We have a large new parking area built by local contractor Todd Hyson last fall. Please don’t park on Montgomery Road anymore. We don’t have heat in the barn, so dress warm so you can browse. There is a lot to see in our Big Gray Barn. We will be closed if there is a snowstorm.
The BBH Rotary Club meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. in our clubhouse next to the Big Gray Barn. This week we are holding our annual St Patty's Day Party. We always welcome visitors, friends, potential members and visiting Rotarians. We are a diverse group of members who help make each other's lives richer and more fun while carrying out the Rotary Foundation Motto “Service Above Self.” FMI: www.boothbayharborrotary.org.
