While word spreads fast across the peninsula, we want to share with you all updates concerning food and food services from closures to curbside ordering to some who will continue to serve the public. If we’ve missed your business or if plans have changed, please email news@boothbayregister.com

Boothbay Region Food Pantry will continue to operate on Fridays (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) as usual, said BRFP’s Doreen Dun. The pantry will also be providing as much as possible for non-clients. “The procedure is going to be quite different – you will stay in the car … and food will be in a pre-packaged box. If you can’t lift a box, please bring somebody who can.”

Dun said she is hoping the boxes will be useful to people as they are trying to minimize contact and will not be letting anyone into the pantry to pick out items. “If it doesn’t seem to work well this Friday, we’ll see what we can work on. We think we’ll be able to provide for our usual clients, but beyond that, we don’t know how many people are going to show up.”

Boat House Bistro Tapas Bar and Restaurant will be opening tentatively on April 1 with hopes of opening dining room service with a full menu and extended hours. If experts continue recommending social distancing, the Bistro will have a limited to-go menu with curbside and delivery services from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“... If it’s deemed safe to open, I can’t get it open fast enough, you know,” said Boat House Bistro owner Ralph Smith. “It’s hurting business, but if it’s not safe, we won’t open back up.”

Robinson’s Wharf will be closed until April and will reevaluate before deciding to open back up. Pier 1 Pizza and Waves Restaurant will be closed until April.

Eventide will be closed to foot traffic, but will be providing curbside pickup and free delivery to customers on the peninsula. Call: 350-4244

Ports Pizzeria will be taking online orders and payment and will provide delivery and curbside service. Call: 613-1113

China By the Sea will be providing takeout only until March 31 when it will be back open to dining in. Call: 633-4449

Footbridge Brewery will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to fill growlers only.

Southport General Store will remain open, but has made a few rules to foot traffic. The store is also offering phone orders and payment as well as grocery delivery at no extra cost.

Pinkham’s Gourmet Market will remain open and will continue serving lunches, but only as takeout. Pinkham’s will also be providing free curbside service or delivery to the elderly or immunocompromised. Call: 633-6236

Farm 23 is open 6 a.m.-12:30 p.m., stop in with a credit card and make a takeout purchase or call ahead for curbside pickup, 207-315-6833.

Hometown Convenience announced Friday morning, March 20 that it is closed until further notice.

Carriage House Restaurant is offering a take-out menu only from noon to 6 p.m. seven days a week until April 1. Call: 633-6025

Baker’s Way, Trevett Country Store, T&D Variety, Walgreens and Family Dollar will keep regular hours. Hannaford has announced dedicated hours for those 60 and older and for those most vulnerable to the virus.

Shaw’s in Wiscasset is holding special hours for the elderly and immunocompromised (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Coastal Maine Popcorn will be open for curbside and delivery services only. There is also free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
