18th Penguin Plunge draws nearly 40 participants

A slight wind and the 40-degree salt water didn’t stop the nearly 40 hearty souls who walked, ran and plunged (some of them) into Linekin Bay, East Boothbay on Wednesday morning, Jan. 1 for the 18th annual Penguin Plunge. The event is a fundraiser for the Boothbay Region YMCA second grade swim program. Here is a look at the approximately five-minute event. Brrrr!
