Southport Church Fair thank you

Mon, 07/22/2019 - 3:45pm

    Dear Editor:

A heartfelt “thank you” to all the volunteers, donors and community friends who helped to make our church fair on July 17 another great success! We are always amazed at all the donations we receive each year and at the number of people who volunteer countless hours of their time to make it all come together.

The kitchen crew did an amazing job serving a delicious lobster roll luncheon to over 250 people. Special thanks to Betty and her team for doing such a super job! Thanks also to Molly, Erin and Sage, to Robinson’s Wharf, the Southport General Store and to those who made donations to help offset expenses.

We also greatly appreciate all the donations to our Silent Auction from area businesses and individuals. The Theme Baskets have become a popular addition and there was something for everyone – from Backyard Cookouts to the family dog!

Thank you to Gerry for controlling the traffic and keeping everyone safe.

Most importantly, thank you to each of you who came and spent a little of your day with us. Whether you came to enjoy the luncheon, to fill a can with cookies, buy some delicious goodies or plants, bid at the silent auction, restock your book supply, shop the tables of treasures, or just to see what we are all about, we do hope you had fun.

With the success of the Fair we will be able to fulfill our ministry to the community and beyond and to maintain our little “Church on the Hill.” We are blessed to be a part of such a supportive community. Thanks again to everyone!
