Dear Editor:

The recent Boothbay Selectman’s race was a very close one and Boothbay has a new selectman. I have been asked about a possible recount. There is no need to have a recount even tho there was only a five vote separation in the totals. There have been past questions about the accuracy of the voting machine. I can assure you that the machine is very accurate. The results are final and I am comfortable with that fact. It's time to move forward.

I would like to congratulate Desiree Scorcia on her election to the board and I wish her well. I want to thank Desiree for running a respectful and old-fashioned small town campaign. You ran on your ideas as did I and it turns out we both care about some of the same things. As I told you, I am willing to help you any way I can. I remember my first year as selectman and it's the hardest because it takes time to get settled and learn everything new that comes at you.

I would like to thank all of the people who have supported me over the years. It has been a pleasure to be able to serve you and the town of Boothbay. It has truly been my honor. Thank you.
