Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Two arrests
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 362 calls for service between Jan. 22 and Jan. 29. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1.540 calls for service.
On Jan. 25, Deputy Alonzo Connor was dispatched to a theft of jewelry complaint in the Bristol area. This case is currently under investigation.
Leigh Arnold, 35, of Winthrop was arrested Jan. 26 for Operating under the Influence, on Alna Road, Alna, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
Katelyn Ford, 30, of Boothbay was arrested Jan. 26 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Back River Road, Boothbay, by Deputy David Bellows.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Vicky L. Simmons, 57, of Waldoboro. Ms. Simmons was operating her 2006 Toyota Tundra northbound when ice came off of an unknown vehicle, also traveling northbound, in front of her and struck her windshield, causing it to shatter. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Debra Corlis, 47, of Damariscotta. Ms. Corlis was operating her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire southbound when she lost control of her vehicle. As a result, her vehicle left the road on the right side, hit a tree and spun around before coming to final rest in a snowbank, facing northbound. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Maple Ridge Road in Nobleboro involving Ryan F. Coffin, 41, of Nobleboro. Mr. Coffin was backing his 2012 Chevrolet 1500 in difficult (visibility) weather conditions and backed off of the edge of the roadway. His vehicle then slid into a tree, causing damage to the rear passenger bed side. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Road on Southport Island involving Karen Curtis, 76, of Southport Island and Gerald Gamage, 65, of Southport Island. Ms. Curtis was operating her 2009 Volkswagen Jetta southbound and Mr. Gamage was snow plowing a private driveway in his 2018 GMC truck. Curtis passed behind Gamage’s vehicle and Gamage failed to see Curtis behind him and as a result, he backed into the side of Curtis’ vehicle. Lt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Joyce I. Greco, 67, of Richmond and John C. Ward, 74, of Pittston. Mr. Ward was operating his 2017 Subaru Forester southbound on Route 27 when Ms. Greco pulled her 2008 Jeep Wrangler off of Blinn Hill Road and struck Ward’s vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Leigh M. Arnold, 35, of Litchfield. Ms. Arnold was operating her 2011 Nissan Versa southbound when she lost control of her vehicle, went off the roadway, where she entered the ditch and struck a snow bank. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 27, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Natashia J. McBurnie, 35, of Bristol. Ms. McBurnie was operating her 2012 Toyota Tundra northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck with the front driver’s corner of her vehicle. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Robert G. Fallon, 34, of Waldoboro. Mr. Fallon was operating his 2017 Chevrolet Cruz southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Christy A. Sykes, 42, of South Bristol. Ms. Sykes was operating her 2017 Jeep Compass northbound when a deer crossed the road and was struck. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Cheryl A. Young, 62, of Somerville and Nancy A. Hartford, 80, of Nobleboro. Ms. Hartford had stopped her 2017 Chevrolet Cruze at a stop sign waiting for traffic to clear before entering Route 1. Ms. Young was behind Hartford’s vehicle in her 2005 Mercury Mountaineer and thought Hartford was starting to pull out and struck the rear of Hartford’s vehicle, causing damage to the rear. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
