Founded in 1980, Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) is a non-profit organization with the Mission to conserve for the public benefit the natural habitat, scenic beauty and working land of the Boothbay region. BRLT preserves provide over 30 miles of pet friendly (pets should be leashed and picked up after) hiking trails open year-round to the public, free of charge.

We are offering Farm Treks during the winter season! 

Alpaca treks are one hour of time for trekking and walking an alpaca with us as your guide! Each hour is $52 per person and provides time for you to walk, feed, cozy up and get personal with your alpaca! Photo opps! Maximum number of spaces per session is four. Age required: at least 8 years of age.

Attire: Closed toed shoes, boots in the winter and appropriate dress for walk. Our farm is closed to the public during our treks, only open for trekkers signed up and registered. During the winter months- please contact us directly to set up a trek: 633-0416 Farm

The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library provides the Boothbay Region with free access to information, literature, and learning opportunities; from the lending library to a year-round schedule of events and programs, there is something for everyone!

Patrons enjoy discount Museum Passes, public computers and WiFi,  and of course, access to all types of materials.  Other services include homebound delivery for housebound community members; by-request use of the lawn and community room; a community bulletin board, and the Children’s and Tween Rooms.

Physical Collections : BHML houses a lending library of over 24,000 items including books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and a telescope.  BHML is part of the Minerva consortium, which enables our patrons to borrow from the collections of over 50 Maine libraries.  BHML can also make special and inter-state interlibrary loan requests via the Maine State Library.

Harbor Theater is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2007 to sustain and perpetuate motion pictures in the Boothbay Region.

Harbor Theater’s program includes first-run releases, art and independent films, festival winners and classic revivals, plus live “Meet the Director/Film Maker/Producer” Q&A sessions. Harbor Theater is the only non-profit, independent cinema on the Boothbay peninsula.

For generations, the stage of the historic 1894 Opera House in Boothbay Harbor, Maine has played host to actors and musicians from around the state and around the globe.

With over 100 events and performances annually, there is almost always something happening at the House-an evening with a Grammy winning musician, a visit from a Broadway actor, nights of jazz or bluegrass, rocking Celtic concerts, lectures, holiday celebrations and community events fill our schedule. With fine acoustics, historic charm, a great old bar room upstairs and a commitment to reasonably priced tickets, the Opera House is a gathering place for the local community and visitors alike.

The Opera House is a 501(c) 3 non-profit committed to the arts, the restoration of the historic building and the community.

Wiscasset Public Library’s mission is to build literacy and provide up-to-date materials and quality services utilizing a wide range of media, sources, and technology to meet the needs of the citizens of Wiscasset and its neighboring communities.

The library strives to fill the community’s educational needs, to assist in developing the public’s ability to find and use information, and to stay attuned to the interests of the community in order to improve and expand its services and programs.

Lincoln Theater's mission is to present diverse, high-quality programs that provide entertaining, artistic, educational and social experiences that enrich our community.

In 2016, four local land trusts and conservation organizations merged to become Midcoast Conservancy. Together, Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association, Hidden Valley Nature Center, Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association and Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance have become one of the largest regional conservation organizations in Maine, with over 8,200 acres of land conserved.

In January, Medomak Valley Land Trust is joining us and will add their time, talents and expertise.

Together we are caring for the Sheepscot River, Damariscotta Lake and the Medomak River from source to sea. Keeping these three jewels healthy are crucial for wildlife, fisheries, climate resiliency and drives local economies.
