Beautiful fairy tree ornaments
My miniature fairy dresses are the ideal gift for the Yule or Christmas tree. Hanging on custom whimsical hangers, they belong in evergreen trees, as a special ornament or as an angel tree topper.
Here are each of the four new fairy dresses I just brought to Brambles in Belfast yesterday. These one-of-a-kind handmade dresses are fashioned from all natural forest and plant materials and each comes with the a Celtic back story.
Lady of the White Thorn
This fairy is the protector of the white thorn, a notable tree in County Clare that sat alone in a vast meadow of green. Workers refused to cut it down, for it was the site of a fairy dwelling. True story.
The Yule Fairy
This fairy, whose reindeer moss skirt and red-berried lichen applique, are a tribute to the season of Yule. The colors of red, white and green, symbolize the merry Meet of the Fairy Gods and Goddesses.
The Queen’s Handmaiden
The Queen's Handmaiden comes up from the rath to sun herself on an evergreen. It's nearing the time of Solstice, when they cling to the branches of pines and sing for the Goddess of Cold Darkness.
The Fuin Fairy
The "fuin" fairy, is a symbol of the end of the planting season, and also the season of renewal for what nourishes the Earth during the long winter.
You can find these hanging art pieces at Brambles in Belfast or on our Etsy page.
