Meet author Terry Webb at Sherman’s bookstore in Boothbay Harbor on Aug. 15 from 3-5 p.m. Webb will be featured autographing her mid-grade lighthouse books: “Manning the Light,” “Weathering the Storms,” “Mystery and Mishap” and “Leaving the Lighthouse.”
Each book depicts the adventures and life of a 13-year-old boy and his friends as he helps his mother tend a lighthouse off the Maine coast each season of the year, beginning the summer of 1903. These historical fiction stories depict real life challenges from sea and weather of lighthouse keepers and their families at the turn of the twentieth century.
“Most of my research for these stories took place in Boothbay Harbor and contain many of my experiences as a youth growing up on Southport Island,” says Dr. Webb, who is delighted to be returning to her childhood roots.
