letter to the editor

Yes, yours is just like mine

Mon, 10/31/2022 - 3:00pm
    Dear Editor:

My grandparents were immigrants who faced the harsh realities of the turn of the 20th century, and thrived.

My parents confronted a Depression and World War II, and prevailed.

My generation was challenged by Vietnam, nuclear annihilation, hedonistic sex and substance abuse, and coped.

The ’80s generation was forced to endure broken marriages and single parent households, and were harmed.

Today's generation, hemmed in by dangerous neighborhoods, violent video games, online pornography, social media bullying, failing schools, and deadly opioids, is suffering.

If you are wondering why so many young people have already lost before they’ve even begun, look at the generational history of your own family. Chances are, it is just like mine.

Now that you get it, find and support those who are already working to fix it.

    Phil Molvar,
