    For May 1 through May 15, Wiscasset Police Department reported 278 calls for service, two motor vehicle accidents and five arrests:

    Arrests

    May 3, Taylor Delano, 22, of Wiscasset was arrested for Operate After Habitual Offender Revocation, by Chief Larry Hesseltine. And Joshua Watkis, 45, of Alna was arrested for Operating While License Suspended or Revoked, by Hesseltine. May 5, Stuart C.S. Wyman, 31, of Boothbay was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, by Sgt. Perry Hatch. And May 9, Trishia Fontaine, 43, of Wiscasset was arrested for Criminal Threatening and Reckless Conduct W/ Dangerous Weapon, by Barnes. And Lhea A Sellick, 38, of Woolwich was arrested for Operation of Defective Vehicle, by Barnes.

    Accidents

    May 9, Barnes responded to an accident on Gardiner Road. A juvenile was traveling north, making a left, drove over the curb, became entangled in a telephone pole guide wire and caused the pole to snap, falling on the vehicle. Minor injuries were reported. And May 14, Officer Emily Christiansen responded to an accident on Bath Road. Joseph Fitch, 36, of Wiscasset was traveling southbound on Bath Road and was struck by Dennis Soule, 77, of Wiscasset, who was making a left onto Bath Road. Minor injuries were reported.

    Stops, citations

    There were 48 motor vehicle stops for violations, including four in the morning school zone and two in the afternoon school zone; 16 citations were issued, four of them in the school zone. There were 25 stops for speeding violations – 15 on Bath Road, four on Gardiner Road, two on Federal Street and one each on Alna, Bradford and Birch Point roads. There were 14 stops for inspection violations – on Federal Street, four on Bath Road, and one for each Water Street and Lowelltown and Birch Point roads. There were four stops for registration – two on Bath Road and one each on Federal Street and Gardiner Road. And there was one stop for each of the following: erratic operations, and exhaust, tires and failure to dim headlights on Bath Road; and stop sign on Lowelltown Road.
