"Modern Classics – Visionary Directors!" As part of Lincoln Theater's 150th Anniversary, we are celebrating cinema - one of the things that has made Lincoln Theater a success through the decades. We are pleased to present the first two films, selected by audience vote, and recognizing visionary directors in the “Modern Classics" series beginning with:
"2001: A Space Odyssey" - (1968; G; 2 hours, 19 minutes) - Stanley Kubrick transformed science fiction from spectacle into serious cinematic art. His groundbreaking visual effects and commitment to scientific realism created a vision of space travel that felt decades ahead of its time. Playing Friday, June 12 at 2 p.m. and Saturday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. Regular film ticket prices.
"Fargo" - (1996; R; running time 1 hour, 37 minutes) - Joel Coen and Ethan Coen blended crime, dark comedy, and human drama in a way that felt entirely original. They paired shocking violence with humor and ordinary Midwestern life, creating a tone that was both unsettling and deeply relatable in this reality-based crime drama set in Minnesota in 1987. Stars William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, and Frances McDormand. Plays Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 13 at 2 p.m. Regular film ticket prices.
"We're Back!" - A Dinosaur Story - (G; 1 hour, 12 minutes) - Join us in the theater lobby at noon for a dinosaur-themed community puzzle, including a small floor puzzle for our younger patrons. The time-traveling alien is intent on bringing some joy to the lives of the children of the Big Apple. After eating a potion to boost their smarts and cuddliness, Tyrannosaurus Rex (John Goodman), Triceratops Woog (René Le Vant), Pterodactyl Elsa (Felicity Kendal) and Hadrosaur Dweeb (Charles Fleischer) hit the town!
