Voting for Minerich and Bourette

Tue, 04/23/2019 - 4:30pm

    Dear Editor:

We are long-time residents and business owners in Boothbay Harbor. Marty grew up here, as has our son. We will be voting for Tom Minerich and Rosemary Bourette for Board of Selectmen.  Many business owners in our community are not Boothbay Harbor residents, and, thus, have no vote in this election.  We may live in separate municipal districts, butwe are one peninsula and our economies are inextricably linked across town lines.   Therefore, it is critical that Boothbay Harbor voters elect a Board of Selectmen that values and supports that linkage.

Tom Minerich has worked in business all of his life, including his “retirement.”  We find him authentic, a great listener, creative, and open to new ideas.  Tom knows the importance of a strong local economy and openly promotes and supports our business community.

Rosemary (Nadeau) Bourette has also worked in business all of her life – many of us know her from her years at the Carriage House.  Rosemary is a problem-solver, hard-working, honest, and independent.  Her extended family roots are generational and Rosemary understands that the strength of our town’s future depends on a thriving business community.

We need a Board of Selectman who actively participates in the business community and ensures that business owners’ voices are heard – regardless of our voting district.  We are confident that Tom and Rosemary, as members of the Board of Selectmen, will actively listen to, promote, and support our business community.

Please join us on May 3 and vote for Tom Minerich and Rosemary Bourette!

    Dennis and Marty Gleason
