Dear Editor,

We are the parents of three kids in the Boothbay Harbor School system. We are supporting articles 3,4, and 5 for several reasons.

First, our schools are in trouble. Right now there are more than $10 million dollars in deferred maintenance at a minimum. We have watched as programs and services  - are constantly on the chopping block. We have seen a number of businesses that support the articles as an approach towards reasonable development. We feel that development will help our community prosper and our schools thrive.

Articles 3,4,5 were supported by the planning board as a way to protect the working waterfront and at the same time allow for growth in our community.  We hope that these will pass, our children will thrive and Boothbay Harbor will be a place they want to stay forever.
