Vote for President Trump

Mon, 08/31/2020 - 4:45pm

    Dear Editor:

To my many Democratic friends, let's talk. You are in a precarious situation, what are you to do? You have a candidate foisted upon you by the Democratic establishment because they were terrified that Bernie Sanders was going to win the nomination. A man that since it became clear he was going to be nominated proceeded to go incognito and hide away. You know that he has been ensconced in Washington for nearly 50 years, accomplishing next to nothing, and has repeatedly run for president always being rejected until now.

On the few times he has appeared recently, you've seen him struggle to articulate himself, often seeming confused. Yeah, he may seem like a nice enough fellow but admit it, you’re concerned about watching him going head-to-head in debates with President Trump. You know that we deserve a strong, energetic and focused president.

Look, I get it; in the circles you travel, many people have a visceral reaction to the name Trump. There is no way to have a reasonable conversation regarding him. I'm not trying to reach those folks. If, however, you can get beyond the fact you don't care for President Trump's style, tweets or persona, and focus on what he has accomplished in less than four years, I have a solution for you.

You can continue to not support President Trump in public and even grumble about him with those that might “cancel” you. However, in the privacy of the voting booth, or even better, during these days by absentee ballot, soothe your soul and do what is best for America. Vote for President Trump!
