A vote for Merritt Blakeslee for Water District
Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Merritt Blakeslee, who is running as a write-in candidate for the Board of Trustees of the Boothbay Region Water District. I have known Merritt for a few years now and believe he is highly qualified for the position and experienced.
While I did not have direct involvement with Merritt as he was diligently working on the West Harbor Pond siphon, I certainly observed the progress of getting this important water project completed. He was also a stalwart presence while the siphon was being installed – standing on the side of Route 27 at the causeway in less than ideal weather.
On a more personal note, I have watched Merritt organize, negotiate, communicate, and schedule pickleball at the Y over the last two years. Merritt’s persistent leadership has been key to this sport in the Boothbay region, growing the sport from a few people to a bursting-at-the-seams sport that plays at least three times/week involving more than 40 players, and still growing. Merritt is a doer!
I am hopeful that voters will write-in Merritt Blakeslee’s name on the ballot on May 3 for a trustee of the Board of Trustees of the Boothbay Region Water District.
