The Halloween alternative “Trunk or Treat,” put on for the community by Boothbay Baptist Church, has been canceled for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event, which originated in the church’s parking lot, had grown so large that it had been held in the YMCA field house for the past several years, drawing hundreds of area children and their families for a warm, safe and wholesome evening of trick-or-treating, music, face painting, bounce houses and free food.

Church organizers look forward to offering Trunk or Treat in October of 2021.
